I’m Jessica, welcome to our page. Bluegrass Homestead is the vision and idea that my husband and I have been building for the last three years. We have the vision to help our family, community and extended communities with knowledge and tools to be more self-sustaining and live a well rounded healthy life. We are firm believers that each of us is comprised of body, soul, mind and spirit and each of these needs to be healthy for us to live our best life.
Life is about more than just money and stuff. Through years of shared experience, we have gained a lot of knowledge and lived through a lot of mistakes. We hope that by bringing you information, stories and wisdom we can help you also connect and get back to the things that make you happiest.
We have always been drawn to the older way of doing things, and not because we detest modern conveniences, but because we have lost our ability to think as a culture. Troubleshooting, working with what you have and making things more organized has become a valuable skill that we and our children need for our futures.

Through compassion and outreach, we can all help teach those around us the skills we know and the skills we want to know. Making community happen organically and positively. I know a negative community may sound like a misnomer but it exists and the evidence is all around us. Negative communities invoke fear, opposition, pessimism, stereotypes and a tribe mentality. No one is going to agree all the time, but if we can get past some of the differences that don’t define us, and get to what does, we will find in the end, we are all human.
Feeding people, helping those in need and educating people with real usable solutions is our dream. We love that ‘teach a man to fish’ story! It is what drives us, no matter where you are coming from, or how you got there, there is always an answer, a solution and a path to healing. Physically, mentally, spiritually and emotionally.
